THE EFFECT OF COCONUT SEED MEAL FERMENTATION WITH EFFECTIVE MICROORGANISM-4 ON THE BROILER PERFORMANCE

Abstract


The objective of this research is to investigate the quality of coconut seed meal
fermented with effective microorganism-4 (EM-4) and its effect on the broiler
perfonnance . One hundred Platinum broiler at the age of 3 days were used subjected to 5 ration treatmentstcontaining different levels of fermented coconut seed meal (5%,
10%, 15%, 20% and 25%) in a completely randomized design. Variables measured
were feed consumption, body weight and ration conversion. The results of this study
showed that the use of fermented kapok seed meal in the ration affected (P<0,05) ration consumption and weight growth. There were no significant effect on feed consumption. Its could be concluded that fennented coconut seed meal can be used up to 15% of the
broiler ration.
