Pengaruh Waktu Aplikasi dan Bahan Pelarut Bonding Setelah Pemutihan Gigi Ekstrakoronal terhadap Kekuatan Geser Pelekatan Resin Komposit pada Email

Abstract

Ekstracoronal  bleaching is tooth whitening on vital teeth to remove the discoloration.  After blaching needs to be done on the composite resin restorations because the color is not   appropriate.The objective of this study was to evaluate the difference of enamel  shear bond strength after  extracoronal bleaching with  different times of application and solvents.       

Flat buccal enamel surfaces were obtained on 30 extracted human maxilla premolars. The speciments were divided into 2 equal groups (n=15). The groups were further divided into 3 subgroups. Restorations in group I werw conducted using an acetone based adhesive and in group II were conducted using an ethanol based adhesive. There was no bleaching treatment of control specimens in group IA and IIA. Restorations using resin composite were conducted immediately after bleaching in group IB and IIB, also after 7 days of bleaching in group IC and IIC.   Shear Bond Strength test were conducted  for all speciments  with a universal testing machine. Data were statistically analyzed by using two way  ANAVA and LSD test.      

The test results two way ANAVA tests show that there were statistically significant difference among times of application  groups, and there was no significant difference among  the different solvent  groups. In this study, concluded that ethanol and acetone based bonding agents could not  increase the shear bond strength of composite to enamel.
