PENGARUH KOMBINASI KOLAGEN DAN PLATELET RICH PLASMA PADA BEDAH FLEP PERIODONTAL TERHADAP PERAWATAN POKET INFRABONI (Kajian pada kedalaman poket, Clinical Attachment Level dan ketinggian tulang)

Abstract

Periodontal pocket treatment is intended to produce periodontal tissue attachment through the regeneration process. Progenitor cells, biological mediators, adequate blood supply and the scaffold are required for periodontal tissue regeneration.
This study used a combination therapy of collagen + platelet-rich plasma (PRP) that was expected to stimulate the regeneration of periodontal tissue. The aim of this study was to evaluate the combination therapy of collagen and PRP to treat infraboni pocket.
Thirty-six infrabony pockets divided into two groups, with a split mouth design, 18 pockets were treated with periodontal flap surgery and combination of collagen + PRP and 18 pockets were treated with periodontal flap surgery alone. PRP obtained
from 9 ml patient’s blood and processed with double centrifuge method. Collagen is collagen sponge from bovine tendon. Pocket depth (PD) and Clinical attachment level (CAL) were measured using a modified probe UNC 15 at baseline, 21 days, 3 months and 6 months. Radiographic evaluation performed 6 months after treatment with Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) in
the sagital, longitudinal and axial plane.
Statistical analysis with two way Anova showed significant differences in the parameters CAL and bone height on sagital and longitudinal plane between control and treatment groups. No significant difference was found between PD and axial bone
height between the groups. The conclusion of this study was combination of PRP and collagen can increased CAL and bone height on sagital and longitudinal plane, but neither decreased PD nor increased axial bone height.
