PENGARUH MODIFIKASI LOKASI PENANAMAN MINI DENTAL IMPLANT TERHADAP RETENSI OVERDENTURE RAHANG BAWAH

Abstract

Overdenture is  removable denture that covered occlusal part of dental implant or natural teeth that have been restored. In patients with alveolar bone resorption, mini dental implant is an option as a support of overdenture. The aim of this study is to
determine the difference between the retention force overdenture on mini dental implant position parallel and diagonal.
This study was done on the mandibula edentulous model by implanted mini dental implants as a support of overdenture.  They used stud mini dental implant (1.8 x 15 mm IMTEC 3M), mini dental implant placed on edentulous models and metal housing
on mandibula complete denture. They were implanted in parallel and diagonal position. Then overdenture placed on a tensile test equipment universal testing machine. Each position was given treatment vertical tensile test 16 times. The Student T-test as statistical method was used to analyse with 95% confidence level (α = 0.05).
The result showed a significant difference between the position of mini dental implants are implanted parallel and diagonal (p <0.05). The conclusion of this study is that the diagonal position is more retentive than the parallel site.
