Abstract


This study focuses on mapping the basis of the existence of the Ahmadiya community in Indonesia based on the precepts of the “Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa” of Pancasila. This research was carried out using the critical historical analysis method. The results of this study include: (1) The precepts of the “Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa” uphold the value of freedom of religion or belief for all Indonesian people. Freedom to choose and practice religion while upholding the value of human dignity and worth. Based on this principle, the existence of the Ahmadiyya group and its dogmas cannot be questioned. The Ahmadiyah group has the same privilege, namely the right to freedom of religion. Various acts of intolerance against the Ahmadiyah group are acts that are contrary to the basic principles of the Indonesian state. (2) The precepts of the “Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa” do not at all talk about the dogmatic concept of a particular religion so that all religions are viewed and treated equally. For this reason, the Ahmadiyya group must be seen as equal to other faith groups. The existence of Ahmadiyah is recognized, affirmed, and respected in Indonesia (3) The state may not intervene in the dogmatic affairs of religions, that is the domain of every religion. The state exists to guarantee freedom and public order. For this reason, the 2008 decree of three ministers regarding the Ahmadiyah group needs to be further criticized
