Abstract


This research aims to explore the important role of librarians in efforts to increase information literacy, especially in the current era of disruption 5.0. This research uses qualitative methods with a library study approach to analyze the role of librarians in efforts to increase information literacy in the era of disruption 5.0, identify effective strategies, and understand the challenges faced by librarians in this era. The results of this research show that librarians have a big responsibility to help people navigate the vast and complex sea of information in the digital era. In the fast and uncontrolled flow of information, librarians act as guides, helping people select relevant information, evaluate sources, and understand the context of information. In facing the challenges of an era of disruption, librarians need to adapt to change, create new skills, and form partnerships to facilitate access to information and increase information literacy. Librarians are needed to help the public determine relevant information, evaluate sources, and understand the context of the information, so that the public can become smarter and more critical users of information.
