Abstract

The cultural and natural attractions of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) have developed a Desa Wisata concept which combine the natural beauty of the countryside and unique customs into one tourist package. Kampung Wisata Cokrodiningratan is one of the tourism villages of Yogyakarta City promoting 3 (three) tourism clusters, namely the culinary and crafts cluster, the arts and culture cluster, and the ecotourism cluster. This community service activities (PkM) is focused on establishing urban agriculture-based ecotourism clusters. The method for implementing PkM activities used Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approached by involving local communities in Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and participatory observation to formulate problems, potentials and activity programs. PkM activities were centered in Jetisharjo Village, Jetis Sub-district, Yogyakarta City in July-November 2023 as a center for ecotourism cluster development. The results of the FGD formulation determined 3 (three) main PkM activities in 2023, including training in cultivating horticultural plants and tabulampot, training in cultivating bees in earthenware jugs, and urban farming competitions in groups. Cultivation training activities are carried out as an effort to increase knowledge and skills, while group urban farming competition activities are carried out to increase community familiarity and cohesiveness. The competition also aims to be a form of monitoring and evaluation of the training that has been carried out previously. PkM activities need to be continued next year to prepare the community to become more self-sufficient in developing an ecotourism cluster in Cokrodiningratan Village.
