Abstract

As a part of a series of community service programs in the village of Margodadi, Subdistrict of Seyegan, Regency of Sleman, Yogyakarta Special Province from July to October 2024, Media and Cultural Studies Program Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada organized various trainings and workshops aimed at developing the tourism potentials of the village. One of the activities is the training on web management, in addition to the profiling of all tourism potentials in Margodadi. The other activity is the training on video making and its editing process and how it should be uploaded in various platforms of social media, as it is written by Ratna Noviani, et.al. This article focusses on the training on web management and the profiling of tourism potentials in Margodadi. The former is somewhat like a “window”, through which ones can see and imagine what ones can watch and do in Margodadi. While the latter is a sort of mapping of various tourism potentials in Margodadi, both the ones which have been developed and not developed yet. While the former is concerned with developing the human resources of the actors of the tourism activities, the latter is more like making a ‘display’ of various tourism potentials in Margodadi which can be used by the authorities of the village in negotiating with the would-be investors. How is the result of the two programs takes time to evaluate.
