This study aims to formulate a comprehensive strategy for developing ecotourism for the Moluccan Scrubfowl (E. wallacei) as an ecotourism attraction. The survey employed an observational design involving habitat observations for animal data using the Variable Circular Plot (VCP) method, semi-structured interviews for qualitative data, and SWOT analysis. The results indicated that the abundance of Moluccan Scrubfowl reached 87 individuals, with an estimated population density of 105 individuals ha-1. The abundance of the Moluccan Scrubfowl is supported by vegetation that functions as shelter and food sources, fulfilling the dietary needs of the species in the form of grains and insects available within the coastal forest vegetation of Tanjung Maleo. The Moluccan Scrubfowl exhibits significant ecotourism value due to its uniqueness, rarity, aesthetic morphology, and distinctive behavior, which collectively serve as strong ecotourism attractions. The existence of the Moluccan Scrubfowl is also supported by local wisdom practices, particularly the “Lelang” and “Sasi” systems, which are integrated into a single ecotourism package. Ecotourism activities related to the Moluccan Scrubfowl have socio-cultural impacts and provide tangible economic benefits, both at the individual level and for the Kailolo Village community as a whole. The SWOT analysis results indicate that the appropriate strategy for Moluccan Scrubfowl ecotourism development is a progressive strategy (SO strategy).
