Buzzers, both individuals and groups, are utilized to shape public opinion through social media for commercial and political purposes. In this of shaping public opinion context, buzzers not only function as disseminators of information but also as actors who construct public perception through structured narratives, including the spread of biased information and misinformation. This study aims to analyze the impact of buzzer activities on Indonesians’ sense of patriotism within the digital space. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using content analysis of various social media contents, supported by relevant literature studies. The analysis focuses on identifying narrative patterns created by buzzers and their implications for national attitudes. The findings indicate that buzzer-generated narratives tend to be polarizing and oriented toward specific group interests, potentially triggering fragmentation in public opinion. The sense of patriotism in the digital context is analyzed through several indicators, including support for national unity, the ability to filter information (digital literacy), participation in disseminating positive national content, and critical attitudes toward provocative narratives. Exposure to biased buzzer content is found to influence public perspectives and may weaken social cohesion. This study contributes to the academic discourse by examining the relationship between buzzer activities and the expression of digital nationalism through a qualitative approach, which has previously been largely discussed conceptually. It also highlights the importance of strengthening digital literacy and social media regulation as strategic efforts to maintain national unity.
2026-05-30T12:56:33+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Pengabdian, Riset, Kreativitas, Inovasi, dan Teknologi Tepat Gunahttps://journal.ugm.ac.id/v3/parikesit/article/view/21112Increasing Awareness and Early Detection of Cervical and Breast Cancer in Women through IVA and SADANIS at Wedung 1 Community Health Center, Demak2026-06-02T12:07:56+07:00Cahyo Wulandariwulan_soil@ugm.ac.idVina Annisa Putrivina.annisa.putri@mail.ugm.ac.idSiti Aisyahaisyaheuclides@mail.ugm.ac.idCinta Aulia Shafira Panggabeancinta.aulia1603@mail.ugm.ac.idM. In Indonesia, breast cancer and cervical cancer are the most common types of cancer among women, with a mortality rate of 70% of all detected cases. The IVA (Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid) and SADANIS (Clinical Breast Examination) methods are effective initial steps for detecting signs and symptoms of cancer in women. This activity aims to increase knowledge and awareness among the public, particularly women, about the importance of early detection of cervical and breast cancer. Through this program, it is hoped that women will better understand the risks and be able to recognize early warning signs. The methods used include reproductive health counseling for women aged 30 to 50 years, followed by cervical and breast cancer screenings. Additionally, the program includes a family planning safari that offers free contraceptive services, such as implants and IUDs, as an additional preventive measure. This activity, held at Puskesmas 1 Wedung, was attended by 14 female participants. The screening results using the IVA and SADANIS methods showed that all participants were negative for cancer indications and had no lumps in their breasts. Based on these results, it can be concluded that routine early detection is crucial for maintaining health and preventing the progression of the disease. Through early detection, appropriate treatment steps can be taken as early as possible, thereby minimizing the risk of complications and death due to cancer. This activity did not include a quantitative evaluation such as pretest-posttest; therefore, changes in knowledge and behavior could not be measured objectively. This condition highlights the need for the application of simple, affordable, and easily operated technological solutions that do not rely on large-scale clean water supply systems. This community service program aims to implement Appropriate Technology (AT) in the form of a household-scale brackish water filtration system as an effort to improve clean water quality while empowering coastal communities to manage their water resources independently and sustainably. The program was conducted as part of the 2025 UGM Community Service Program (KKN-PPM) using a participatory approach that actively involved community members at all stages of implementation, including water condition surveys, system design and assembly, installation of the filtration unit, training on operation and maintenance, and performance evaluation. The filtration system was designed using fiberglass tanks filled with layered filtration media consisting of silica sand, manganese, activated carbon, and micron filters, which function to reduce turbidity, odor, and excessive mineral content in brackish water. The results of the program demonstrated a significant improvement in water quality, as indicated by changes from previously turbid and odorous water to clear and odorless water, as well as pH values and total dissolved solids approaching national clean water quality standards. The community showed positive responses and high enthusiasm in operating and maintaining the filtration system, as it was considered effective, user-friendly, and suitable for local conditions. In addition to providing technical benefits, the program also enhanced collective awareness of the importance of clean water management and environmental health. A quantitative descriptive analysis with a one-group pretest-posttest design was used to measure the impact of the effort. The questionnaire was validated through discussions with experts, specifically the fifth-grade teachers at MI Giriloyo 1 and 2. The sample consisted of 97 elementary students. Normality tests using the Shapiro-Wilk test followed by the Wilcoxon statistical test revealed an overall increase in the mean posttest scores in mathematics (84.62) compared to the pretest scores (75.97), with an improvement of 8.65% after the tutoring intervention. However, the Wilcoxon test results showed that the Negative Ranks were higher than the Positive Ranks (21.72 > 18.81), and posttest scores declined among nine students. This publication explores the Gedongkiwo Elderly School as an empowerment example within the Age-Friendly Communities framework, combining community learning and participatory design. The community engagement took place in Gedongkiwo Village, Yogyakarta City, the province with Indonesia's highest percentage of older adults. The program used a community learning approach to identify local needs and promote reflective learning among older adults, community cadres, and local officials. The program aims to create a participatory design that addresses the needs of the elderly in the Gedongkiwo area. The results of this design will be used by stakeholders such as the Gedongkiwo Village Administration, the Integrated Elderly Services (LLT) management, posyandu cadres, and the elderly themselves. It then employed observation, interviews, and focus groups to develop recommendations for age-friendly spatial designs. Results show that participatory methods boost social involvement, foster older adults' sense of ownership, and lead to better design suggestions for public facilities that are safer, more inclusive, and adaptable. Key outcomes include designing green public spaces and elderly learning centers that enhance mobility, social interaction, and comfort for seniors. Socially, the initiative helped older individuals become more confident, connected, and empowered contributors to community development. The study concludes that combining community learning with participatory design is an effective strategy for elderly empowerment within the Age-Friendly Community framework, offering a promising model for replicating age-friendly public infrastructure at the local level
2026-05-30T13:09:16+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Pengabdian, Riset, Kreativitas, Inovasi, dan Teknologi Tepat Gunahttps://journal.ugm.ac.id/v3/parikesit/article/view/27774Peningkatan Kualitas Produk, Kapabilitas Manajemen, dan Perluasan Pemasaran Untuk Meningkatkan Revenue Generating UsaKATAN KUALITAS PRODUK, KAPABILITAS MANAJEMEN, DAN PERLUASAN PEMASARAN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN REVENUE GENERATING USAHA SIRUP SAWO “PUTRI”2026-06-02T15:28:19+07:00Siti Shoimahsitishoimah@unisda.ac.idAfril Efan Pajrisitishoimah@unisda.ac.idFatichatur Rochmaniyahsitishoimah@unisda.ac.id Eka Fadlilatus Saadahsitishoimah@unisda.ac.idMuhammad Sholihinsitishoimah@unisda.ac.id
Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan untuk memberdayakan Industri Rumah Tangga (IRT) Sirup Sawo ‘Putri’ di Desa Pangkatrejo, Kecamatan Sugio, Lamongan. Senior high school students with intellectual disability and autism often experience difficulties in verbal communication, emotional regulation, sustained attention, and fine motor coordination, which may affect their learning engagement and daily functioning. This paper aims to describe the implementation of an art therapy program using three-dimensional whole eggshell decoration as a medium for nonverbal emotional expression while simultaneously stimulating focus and fine motor skills. The program was implemented as an art-based occupational therapy activity at a public special education school involving students aged 18–20 years. The activity design consisted of several stages, including preparation, decorating whole eggshells using paint, drawing facial expressions to represent daily emotional states, and simple reflection. Observations were conducted throughout the sessions to examine student participation, concentration, and motor control during the activity. The results indicate that students were able to actively engage in the sessions, maintain improved focus, and demonstrate better fine motor coordination while handling brushes and interacting with three-dimensional media. The facial expression drawings further reveal that the activity functioned as an effective medium for nonverbal emotional expression. In conclusion, the art therapy program using whole eggshell decoration offers a practical, low-cost, and innovative alternative for occupational therapy activities in special education settings, particularly in supporting emotional expression, focus, and fine motor stimulation among students with intellectual disability and autism.
2026-05-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Pengabdian, Riset, Kreativitas, Inovasi, dan Teknologi Tepat Gunahttps://journal.ugm.ac.id/v3/parikesit/article/view/28412Community Empowerment through the Utilization of Household Organic Waste as Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) to Support Household-Level Food Security in RW 13 Giwangan, Yogyakarta2026-06-15T14:19:48+07:00Devi Oktaviana Latiffachrudinabdulrozaq2004@mail.ugm.ac.idFachrudin Abdul Rozaqfachrudinabdulrozaq2004@mail.ugm.ac.id
Household organic waste remains a major environmental challenge in urban residential areas, particularly in densely populated neighborhoods with limited land availability. Most organic waste has not been properly managed and is still disposed of in landfills, leading to potential environmental pollution. At the same time, household-level food security has become an increasingly important issue, especially for urban communities with limited access to productive land. This community service activity aimed to enhance public awareness and understanding of the utilization of household organic waste as liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) as an initial effort to support household food security and sustainable environmental management. The activity was conducted in RW 13 Giwangan, Umbulharjo District, Yogyakarta City, targeting a group of male residents. The implementation method employed a community-based educational approach through socialization sessions and the dissemination of visual information media in the form of posters. The socialization covered basic concepts of organic waste classification, the principles of LOF production, and its potential use for home gardening. Educational posters were installed on the neighborhood notice boards to reinforce key messages and provide continuous access to information for the wider community. The results indicate that socialization activities combined with visual media effectively improved residents’ understanding of the potential value of household organic waste and alternative waste management practices. Although no hands-on training was conducted, the increase in environmental literacy represents an important initial achievement in fostering attitude and behavior change. Furthermore, the activity introduced residents to the linkage between organic waste management and household food security through the utilization of limited residential spaces. Sempor Waterfall is one example of a natural tourism destination that has emerged in Dusun Turi, Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and has undergone transformation. Initially, the area was utilized by local youth for river tracing activities, informal recreation, and resource collection, and it later developed into a recognized tourism attraction. This study aims to analyze the transformation process and development dynamics of Sempor Waterfall as an alternative tourism destination. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through field observations, in-depth interviews with community members and stakeholders, and documentation. The analysis reveals that the development process was driven by a bottom-up approach involving local youth groups and supported by a university community service program (KKN-PPM UGM). The findings highlight that everyday practices played a significant role in shaping the early formation of the destination, while limited resources encouraged adaptive and collaborative strategies. Furthermore, the study identifies that the transformation phase is crucial in determining the direction of future tourism development, particularly in terms of sustainability and community involvement. In conclusion, the case of Sempor Waterfall demonstrates that community-led, low-capital initiatives can effectively transform local natural resources into alternative tourism destinations, contributing to the broader discourse on community-based and emerging rural tourism.
2026-05-30T13:23:16+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Pengabdian, Riset, Kreativitas, Inovasi, dan Teknologi Tepat Gunahttps://journal.ugm.ac.id/v3/parikesit/article/view/29983Pengembangan Kelompok Ternak Mandiri Hijauan Pakan Berbasis Pengelolaan Lahan Marginal di Desa Duwet, Wonosari, Gunungkidul2026-06-02T14:01:54+07:00Miftahush Shirothul Haqmiftahush.shirothul.h@ugm.ac.idAji Praba Baskaramiftahush.shirothul.h@ugm.ac.idAqmal Nur Jihadmiftahush.shirothul.h@ugm.ac.id Fathi Alfinur Rizqimiftahush.shirothul.h@ugm.ac.id Fathi Alfinur Rizqimiftahush.shirothul.h@ugm.ac.idNovat Pugo Sambodomiftahush.shirothul.h@ugm.ac.idSri Andayanimiftahush.shirothul.h@ugm.ac.id
Gunungkidul Regency is a karst region that is vulnerable to drought due to the low ability of the soil to retain water. This has a significant impact on the provision of forage for the livestock sector. This community service aims to improve animal feed independence through the application of irrigation technology and legume plant integrity in marginal land in Duwet Village, using the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach method which is divided into 4 (four) stages: Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling (POAC). This activity includes field surveys, socialization, initial assessment, participatory installation, as well as technical assistance and ongoing monitoring. After 8 (eight) harvests, the application of sprinkler irrigation was able to increase and stabilize forage productivity in the range of 16-17 kg/m2. The integration of legume plants contributes to improving soil fertility through nitrogen fixation, this is what supports the sustainable growth of forage crops. Total forage production varied between locations, ranging from 0.40 to 1.57 tonnes, indicating the influence of specific factors such as soil conditions, water availability, and farming management. The program also demonstrated success in increasing the capacity and participation of livestock groups, as evidenced by the high level of involvement in system installation and management. Operational costs, technology maintenance, and the need for a more adaptive approach to local conditions are challenges faced in this activity.
