Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

The editor of Jurnal Pengabdian dan Pengembangan Masyarakat welcomes article submissions in accordance with the following guidelines:  

  1. Articles have not been published or accepted for publication, or are being considered for publication elsewhere. In addition to the manuscript, a written statement should be attached which clarifies that the article is original and does not contain any elements of plagiarism.
  2. Types of articles suitable for publication include the following; contains a variety of activities carried out both internally by UGM or from the external in handling and overcoming various problems that occur in the community by applying science and technology which can then be useful to improve the welfare of the community.
  3. Another suitable type of article is a book review.  Please note the following requirements for submitting book reviews:
    • books being reviewed should be newly published (within the last one year for books in Indonesian and two years for books in other foreign languages),
    • book reviews should be between 3-5 pages in length, and
    • a copy/ scan of the book cover should be attached. 
  4. Articles are written preferably in English using academic language along with standard academic writing structure and composition. Manuscripts are typed 1,5 spaced in a quarto paper size (A4), between 5000-7000 words in length including references, pictures, and tables.
  5. Articles should be in form of essay which includes:
    • title (15-20 words),
    • author’s name (without any academic degree) with an e-mail address and institution’s name,
    • abstract (150-200 words for each) which includes research problems, methods, and results,
    • keywords (5-7 words),
    • author’s personal information and e-mail address,
    • introduction (without subsection, 2-3 pages) which includes background, objectives, methods, and literature reviews/ theoretical construct (if needed) of the research. The introduction section  ends with an emphasis on items to be discussed, 
    • discussion (consists of result of the study,written in the form of subchapter(s)),
    • conclusion (is a brief summary of findingsand discussion. It is strongly recommended to 
      avoid mere repetitive statements from the previous sections) and
    • references. 
  6. Reference list format is based on APA (American Psychological Association) style. The reference list should appear at the end of the article and includes only literature actually cited in the manuscripts. References are ordered alphabetically and chronologically. We strongly recommend authors to use reference tools, such as MendeleyZoteroEndnoteetc. Herewith are some of the APA-based references format structure:
    • Printed book: Author, A.A. (Year of Publication). Title of work. Publisher City, State: Publisher.
    • Online book: Author, A.A. (Year of Publication). Title of work [E-Reader Version]. Retrieved from http://xxxx or doi:xxxx
    • Journal article in print: Author, A.A. (Publication Year). Article title. Periodical TitleVolume (Issue), pp.-pp.
    • Journal article online: Author, A.A. (Publication Year). Article title. Periodical TitleVolume (Issue), pp.-pp. doi: xx.xxxx or Retrieved from journal URL

    • Magazine article in print: Author, A.A. (Year, month of Publication). Article title. Magazine TitleVolume (Issue), pp.-pp.
    • Encyclopedia: Author, A.A.. (Publication Year). Entry title. In Encyclopedia title, (Vol. XX, pp. XX).City, State of publication: Publisher.
  7. The editor appreciates if authors excerpt information from previously published articles in JP2M.
  8. Articles should be submitted in soft files using Microsoft Word application to the Online Submission page.


Online Submitting Manuscript Guidelines

The manuscript text must be submitted by one of two systems (second procedure will be preferred):

  1. Submitting document should be done by Online Submission System in the JP2M E-journal portal HERE.
  2. First, the author should register as an author or reviewer (checking role as author or reviewer) in the “Register” or HERE.
  3. After registration completed, log in as an author, click in “New Submission”. The article submits stage consist five stages, such as:  (1). Start, (2). Upload Submission, (3). Enter Metadata, (4). Upload Supplementary Files, (5). Confirmation.
  4. In the “Start” column, chose Journal Section (Full Article), check all the checklists.
  5. In the “Upload Submission” Columns, upload the manuscript files at MSWord format in this column.
  6. In the “Enter Metadata” columns, fill out all the author data and affiliation. Following the Journal Title, Abstract and Indexing Keywords.
  7. In the “Upload Supplementary Files” columns, allowed to upload supplementary data file or the statement letter or other else.
  8. In the “Confirmation” columns, if all the data that you enter were right, then click “Finish Submission”.
  9. If the author has difficulties in the submitting process via the online system, please contact JP2M Editorial team at jp2m.sv@ugm.ac.id.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

  3. Manuscripts published / published in print and electronically are open access to education, research and library purposes. In addition to these objectives, the editorial board is not responsible for violations of copyright law.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.

 

Author Fees

This journal charges the following author fees.

Article Submission: 0.00 (IDR)
Authors are required to pay an Article Submission Fee as part of the submission process to contribute to review costs.

If you do not have funds to pay such fees, you will have an opportunity to waive each fee. We do not want fees to prevent the publication of worthy work.
