Otonomi Sosiologi Pedesaan di Asia Tenggara: Dari Ontologi Menuju Pengembangan Metodologi Riset

Abstract


Artikel ini membahas tentang kajian Sosiologi Pedesaan di Asia Tenggara yang banyak dipengaruhi oleh pengetahuan Barat, meskipun karakteristik desa di Asia Tenggara berbeda dengan desa di Barat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis ontologi Sosiologi Pedesaan di Asia Tenggara dengan menggunakan metode studi literatur pada tiga artikel yang diterbitkan pada tahun 1959 dan satu artikel tahun 2022. Penggunaan teori Pierre Bourdieu membantu peneliti menjelaskan praktik dominasi Barat terhadap kajian Sosiologi Pedesaan di Asia Tenggara. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa sejarah perkembangan Sosiologi Pedesaan di Asia Tenggara tidak bisa dilepaskan dari orientalisme, kolonialisme, dan fenomena Perang Dunia II. Ilmuwan asing memainkan peran penting dalam memperkenalkan dominasi pengetahuan "ilmiah" Barat. Ontologi Sosiologi Pedesaan di Asia Tenggara diwarnai oleh tipe positivisme logis, tipe naturalistik, dan tipe materialisme. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kajian Sosiologi Pedesaan di Asia Tenggara pada tahun 1959 dirancang untuk melayani kolonialisme dan kepentingan Barat, dan perlu adanya otonomi kajian Sosiologi Pedesaan yang memberikan  sudut pandang baru melalui pembaruan metodologi di Indonesia. Data Desa Presisi adalah salah satu bentuk pembaharuan metodologi dalam sistem penelitian di Indonesia yang berupaya membangun otonomi Sosiologi Pedesaan.
