Author Guidelines

Manuscripts that could be considered to be accepted in Majalah Farmaseutik include research articles, surveys, literature closely related to the field of pharmacy, pharmaceutical technology, industrial pharmacy, pharmaceutical physics, biopharmaceutics, hospital pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, social pharmacy, engineering, and community pharmacy. Submit your manuscript through our Online Submission link present in the Sidebar or click here.

Manuscripts published in Pharmaseutik Magazine have been selected and approved by members of the Editorial Board. Whether your manuscript has been published elsewhere, state the name of the publisher and where it was published. Check using the Mendely reference application or other reference applications. The scientific truth of a manuscript submitted to Majalah Farmaseutik is entirely the responsibility of the author.

Write your manuscript in either Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia) or English, and follow our systematics:

1. Title

Present title both in Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia) and English. If manuscript is entirely written in English, title in Bahasa Indonesia is not mandatory.

2. Author names and affiliations

Where the family name may be ambiguous (e.g., a double name), please indicate this clearly. Present the authors' affiliation addresses (where the actual work was done) below the names. Indicate all affiliations with a lower-case superscript letter immediately after the author's name and in front of the appropriate address. Provide the full postal address of each affiliation, including the country name and, if available, the e-mail address of each author.

3. Corresponding author

Clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication. Ensure that phone numbers (with country and area code) are provided in addition to the e-mail address and the complete postal address. Contact details must be kept up to date by the corresponding author.

4. Abstract

A concise and factual abstract is required and must be written in English, the maximum length is 200 words for Research and Review articles, and 100 words for Short Communication. The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the methods used, the principal results and major conclusions. Please try to keep each sentence as specific as possible, and avoid such general statements as "The management implications of the results are discussed". An abstract is often presented separately from the article, so it must be able to stand alone. For this reason, References should be avoideda, but if essential, they must be cited in full, without reference to the reference list. Also, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if essential they must be defined at their first mention in the abstract itself.

5. Keywords

Immediately after the abstract, provide a maximum of 4 keywords. Be sparing with abbreviations: only abbreviations firmly established in the field may be eligible. These keywords will be used for indexing purposes.

6. Introduction

Include background of the research, literature review, and research objectives

7. Methodology

Include materials, utilized instruments, and the workflow of the research

8. Result and Discussion

Results should be clear and concise. The discussion should explore the significance of the results of the work. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature.

If appropriate, Results can be written in a separate section from Discussion. This especially if the Discussion is extensive and includes all the Results of the study.

9. Conclusion

The main conclusions of the study should be presented in a short Conclusions section which stands alone.

10. Acknowledgement (if any)

Collate acknowledgements in a separate section at the end of the article before the references and do not, therefore, include them on the title page, as a footnote to the title or otherwise. List here those individuals who provided help during the research (e.g., providing language help, writing assistance or proofreading the article, etc.).

11. References

Please note that the maximum length of the manuscript submitted in Majalah Farmaseutik should be no more than 10 pages. Write the title of Tables with Roman numerals. The Tables must be intact and clearly legible. Include all images (including graphics) in a separated ready-to-print attachment and write the title in the bottom of each image in Arabic numerals. Photos submitted should be in clear and good resolution.

To cite a literature in the main text, indicate the last name of cited Author and the year the publication was issued. If there are more than two Authors, follow the first Author’s last name with dkk., (Bahasa Indonesia), or et al., followed by the year published. For example:

  • According to Fullerton (1982), contraceptive pills are divided into…
  •  … the utilization rate of contraceptive pills by fertile couple (Pasangan Subur or PUS) in Java and Bali is 61% (Sarjani et al., 1987)

In the Reference section, all references should be arranged alphabetically. The following is the systematic writing when referring to a literature: Authors family name (all Authors names should be mentioned), the year of publication, title in italic, volume in italic or underlined, edition, publisher name, the city it was first published, and the page of citation. When referencing magazines or journals, follow this systematic writing: Authors last name (all Authors should be mentioned), the year of publication, title, abbreviation of the journal and its volume in italic or underlined, and the page of citation. For example:

  • Fullerton, D. S., 1982, Steroid and Therapeutically Related Compounds in Wilson and Gisvold’s Textbook of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry (R. F. Doerge, Ed.) 8th Ed., J. B. Lippincott, Philadelphia, 685-690

12. Figure

Please embed the figures in the text with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Separate figure files in JPEG or PNG formats can be supplied if it feels necessary. Ensure that each figure has a caption. A caption should comprise a brief title (not on the figure itself) and a description of the figure. Keep text in the figure themselves to a minimum but explain all symbols and abbreviations used.

13. Table

Please submit tables as editable text and not as images. Number tables consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text and place any table notes below the table body. Be sparing in the use of tables and ensure that the data presented in them do not duplicate results described elsewhere in the article. Please avoid using vertical rules.

Adjust to the provisions above if the manuscript submitted is in the form of review or survey articles.

All manuscripts submitted to Majalah Farmaseutik are required to follow our publication process including the process of reviewing and proofreading. Suggestion by our Reviewers and/or Editorial Board will be sent to the Corresponding Authors, and Authors are ought to revise their manuscript. Upload the revised version of your manuscript before the given deadline so as not to be exposed to obstacles in its publication.
