Perilaku Pencarian Informasi Mahasiswa Bidang Saintek dan Soshum Universitas Sam Ratulangi terhadap Jurnal Online
Abstrak
Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi perbedaan perilaku pencarian informasi antara mahasiswa bidang sains dan teknologi (Saintek) serta sosial humaniora (Soshum) di Universitas Sam Ratulangi dalam mengakses jurnal online. Dengan menggunakan desain studi kasus ganda kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen. Analisis data melalui tahapan analisis setiap kasus, perbandingan antar kasus, dan analisis lintas kategori. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa Saintek cenderung mengikuti pola pencarian yang sistematis dan berorientasi pada efisiensi, sedangkan mahasiswa Soshum menunjukkan pendekatan yang lebih eksploratif dan reflektif. Variasi perilaku ini dipengaruhi oleh budaya akademik, tingkat literasi digital, dan orientasi belajar masing-masing bidang ilmu. Temuan ini memodifikasi model perilaku pencarian informasi Meho dan Tibbo menjadi kerangka yang lebih adaptif dan kontekstual. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi empiris tentang bagaimana perbedaan disiplin ilmu membentuk interaksi mahasiswa dengan informasi digital, serta menawarkan rekomendasi bagi perpustakaan universitas untuk melanggan e-journal yang selaras dengan karakter akademik pengguna.
