Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to IJSS are processed through screening and review to ensure that they are within the scope of the journal and have sufficient academic quality and novelty. IJSS uses double-blind peer review, in which the identities of the authors and reviewers are hidden from each other.

Newly submitted manuscripts will be screened by the Editor in Chief to meet IJSS's scope and basic submission requirements.

If a manuscript passes the initial screening stage, it will be assigned to two experts in the relevant field for double-blind peer review. Manuscripts that do not pass the initial screening will be rejected without further review.

First decision. Decisions about peer-reviewed manuscripts will only be made after receiving at least two review reports.

In cases where a manuscript is rejected by a reviewer assigned by the editor, the handling editor will invite additional reviewers for a third opinion before making a decision. At this stage, a manuscript may be rejected, requested revision, accepted as is, or recommended for resubmission for a second review process.

If accepted, the manuscript will be returned to the sending author to be formatted according to the input provided.

The final decision to accept the manuscript will be made by the Chief Editor based on the recommendation of the editor in charge and upon approval by the editorial board.

Manuscripts that require revision will be returned to the author within a certain time to format and revise the manuscript, after which it will be reviewed by the responsible editor. The handling editor will determine whether the changes are adequate and appropriate, and whether the authors adequately respond to reviewers' comments and suggestions. If a revision is deemed inadequate, this cycle will be repeated (the manuscript will be returned to the submitting author once again for further revision).

The final stage is to determine whether the revised manuscript will be accepted or rejected. This decision is made by the editor in charge of finding that the manuscript has been corrected to a level appropriate for publication. If the manuscript is acceptable, then the production process will be carried out until the final stage in the form of publication.
