About / Background

Forum Teknik is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta. The journal has a unique role as an academic archive that captures scientific contributions born from faculty events, particularly the annual Engineering Higher Education Day (HPPT) and activities such as Techno Fest, student symposia, workshops, and academic forums.

With the transition to the new Open Journal System (OJS) platform, Forum Teknik strengthens its commitment to providing accessible, transparent, and high-quality scientific communication. Each issue serves as an official record of the intellectual journey within FT UGM and contributes to scientific and technological advancement in Indonesia.


Aims

Forum Teknik aims to:

  • Document research outputs and innovations emerging from HPPT and faculty academic activities.

  • Provide a credible publication venue for students, early-career researchers, lecturers, and engineering practitioners.

  • Promote scientific publication culture within the Faculty of Engineering.

  • Enhance visibility and dissemination of engineering knowledge.

  • Support the development of science and technology relevant to societal needs.

Forum Teknik publishes scientific works related to:

  1. Research and innovation from HPPT / Techno Fest

  2. Technical articles from lecturers, researchers, and professionals

    – Engineering practice reports

  3. Interdisciplinary topics
    – Smart infrastructure
    – Sustainable and clean energy
    – Digital technology, robotics, automation
    – Environmental and disaster engineering

  4. Core engineering disciplines at FT UGM
    Civil Engineering, Architecture & Planning, Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, Electrical & IT, Chemical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and other multidisciplinary fields.


Publication Frequency

Forum Teknik is published twice a year, aligned with faculty academic activities. Issues may be thematic, particularly those associated with HPPT events.


Peer Review Process

  • All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review.

  • Editorial screening ensures relevance and minimum quality.

  • Review by at least two independent reviewers.

  • Authors revise according to feedback.

  • Final decision by editor.

  • Copyediting, layout, and publication follow acceptance.


Open Access Policy

Forum Teknik provides full Open Access.
All articles are freely available to read, download, and share under Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0).
