Abstract

Sendangrejo Village, located in Minggir District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, has significant potential in the freshwater fisheries sector, particularly in tilapia farming. However, the village faces challenges such as low fish prices and inefficiencies in fish processing, leading to losses for local farmers. To address these issues, the PPK Ormawa Nawasatya UGM implemented a training program on fish product diversification for the women of the KWT and PKK groups in Sendangrejo Village. The program aims to enhance the community's knowledge and skills in processing tilapia into value-added products, such as fish nuggets and fish sticks, which can extend shelf life and attract consumer interest. Through participatory training methods, including the PRA approach and hands-on demonstrations, the evaluation results of the pre-test and post-test showed a significant improvement in participants' knowledge and skills. This program not only helps increase the community's income but also has the potential to position Sendangrejo Village as a center for high-quality fish processing. The success of this program underscores the importance of ongoing support and further mentoring to fully develop fishery-based entrepreneurial potential in Sendangrejo Village.
