Abstract
Mental health in the elderly requires prioritization. Depression in the elderly can lead to cognitive impairment, fitness, even disability, suicide, and death. Providing social and religious support, physical activity therapy through local wisdom games will increase the spirit and happiness. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of social-religious support and physical activity through a local wisdom game on depression, fitness, and cognitive function in elderly women after COVID-19 in Bunder, Purwobinangun. This is a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control design. There are 42 elderly women who were able to communicate and are still active as the subjects of this study. A paired t-test with significance p<0,05 was used. Results showed that there is a significant decrease in depression score (mean difference=2,909; t=12,812; p=0,000) and impaired cognitive function (mean difference=2,813; t=8,814; p=0,000). In addition, there is a significant increase in walking distance of 32,31 meters (t=10,323; p=0,000). Physical activity therapy through local wisdom games in combination with social and religious support is effective in lowering the depression level, increasing cognitive function and fitness in elderly women in Bunder.
