Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

Lexicon welcomes article submissions adhering to the following guidelines:

  1. Articles have not been published or accepted for publication, or are being considered for publication elsewhere. In addition to the manuscript, a written statement should be attached which clarifies that the article is original and does not contain any elements of plagiarism.
  2. Only manuscripts reporting empirical research are suitable for publication in this journal.
  3. Manuscripts are written in standard academic English, between 5000-8000 words in length including references, pictures, and tables.
  4. Manuscripts should be in the form of prose with the following components:
  • No authors' names in any part of the article. Authors' identities must be entered on the article metadata.
  • Title (max. 15 words)
  • Abstract (150-200 words) which includes:
  • purpose,
  • methods,
  • findings and discussion,
  • research implication, if applicable
  • Keywords (5-7 words),
  • Introduction which includes background and objectives. The introduction section ends with an emphasis on items to be discussed,
  • Literature Review (presenting a review of previous studies related to your research topic to contextualize your research)
  • Theoretical Framework describing relevant theories adopted in the research,
  • Methods (describing how the research was conducted),
  • Findings and Discussion (presenting and discussing research findings),
  • Conclusion (reporting your accomplishments by highlighting major findings, relating and evaluating your data in the light of previous research, interpreting your data by making suggestion as to why your results are the way they are)
  • References and
  • Acknowledgement, if any.
  1. Please consult the APA 7th edition publication manual for diacritics and spelling of proper names; dates and numbers; and figures, tables and maps.
  2. Reference list format is based on APA (American Psychological Association) style 7th edition. The reference list should appear at the end of the article and includes only literature actually cited in the manuscripts. References are ordered alphabetically and chronologically. Use of a reference tool such as EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero is required for all article submission in Lexicon.
  3. The editor appreciates if authors excerpt information from previously published articles in Lexicon.
  4. Articles should be submitted in soft files using document format (.doc or .docx) to the Online Submission page.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

NO Article Publication Fee will be charged for publications costs. Article publication in Lexicon is also totally free of charge.
