Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

General Guidelines:
  1. The manuscript is an original work and has not been published yet in any other publication media, publishing houses, personal blogs and academic websites;
  2. The manuscript does not contain any plagiarism element. The editorial board will directly reject manuscript with plagiarism content.
  3. The manuscript has been submitted only to Global South Review; it is not under consideration or peer-review or accepted for publication or in press or published elsewhere;
  4. Global South Review publishes research articles and book review that suitable with our focus and scope policy;
  5. The submission and the publication processes are free, without any additional fees.
Writing Guidelines
  1. Manuscript template can be downloaded here;
  2. The manuscript should only be written in English;
  3. The manuscript is written on A4-sized papers (21x29.7 cm), with custom margins as follows: left 2.5 cm, right 2 cm, bottom 2 cm and top 3 cm;
  4. The text of the articles must be in Calisto MT, 12pt font size, 1.5 line spacing. 
  5. Article should consist of 4,000-7,000 words (research article) and 3,000-4,000 words (book review);
  6. Referencing and citing technique used is APA 7th edition, with in-text citation format.

Submission Guidelines
  1. Register as "Author" through the Register page.
  2. The manuscript that has been written under the guidelines of Global South Review must be submitted through Online Submission System using Open Journal System (OJS) on the Global South Review e-journal portal (http://journal.ugm.ac.id/globalsouth) 
  3. Tables and pictures used in the manuscript should be resubmitted via email attachment to publication.iis@ugm.ac.id in a high-quality .jpeg format. Authors should notify in which page the table or picture is being used.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. My manuscript has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (if there is any, write an explanation in Comments to the Editor box below).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. I write all references used in my manuscript properly and it does not contain any plagiarism.
  4. I have adjusted my manuscript to comply with Global South Review writing template.
  5. I have adjusted my manuscript to exclude my personal identity in any way thus Ensuring a Blind Review policy obliged by Global South Review.

All articles published in Global South Review journal are licensed under the CC BY-NC-SA (Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License). Under this license, rights holders are permitted to share (copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format) and adapt (remix, transform, and build upon the material), as long as rights holders give attribution, and any adaptations must be distributed under the same license. Furthermore, rights holders may not use the material for commercial purposes.  

The author(s) retain full copyright of their work without restriction. By publishing in this journal, authors grant Global South Review a non-exclusive right of first publication and authorize the journal to publish, distribute, and archive the article in both electronic and print formats. Authors are permitted to deposit, share, and redistribute the published version of their article in institutional repositories, personal websites, or other platforms, provided that proper bibliographic citation of the original publication is maintained.

Author Fees

This journal charges the following author fees.

Article Submission: 0.00 (IDR)

Authors are not required to pay an Article Submission Fee. 

Article Publication: 1.500.000 - 1.750.000 (IDR)

Upon acceptance of the article, authors are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC). The APC covers the cost of editorial administration, article production, and dissemination of published article.

  • Book Review: IDR 1.500.000 or USD 90

  • Article: IDR 1.750.000 or USD 105

The journal may provide fee waivers for authors under certain circumstances. To apply for a fee waiver, authors must submit a formal statement explaining the reason for the request, along with supporting proof or relevant documents. Requests will be reviewed and considered by the editorial team on a case-by-case basis.
