Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

All contribution from interdisciplinary field combining experimental design, physicochemical measurements, multivariate statistical analysis, and mathematical modeling for extracting useful information from data would are covered in this journal. Application of these methods in the fields of chemistry, pharmaceutical, chemical engineering, biochemistry, life sciences, and related disciplines are relevant for the issues of the journal.

Original Research Articles should explain novel techniques or methods in chemometrics implementations. These articles should not exceed 25 double spaced manuscript pages, 5 illustrations, and 4 tables. Articles that have been published previously or currently being reviewed by another journal will be rejected from submission.

Short Communications on critical topics in chemometrics also will be accepted for contribution in chemometrics fields. The author should inform the Editor why priority is warranted. The length of Short Communications is restricted to a maximum of two Journal pages, i.e. approximately four double spaced manuscript pages. They will be given preference over papers in the speed of publication and should still be preceded by a summary.

Tutorial Articles provide a source of information that goes beyond that conveyed in a normal research article. Topics should be presented at an introductory level suitable for non-experts with maximum attention being given to clarity of expression, high quality figures, and freedom from jargon. Articles should stimulate as well as inform the readers. There are no formal limits on the page extent for this article type.

Review. A full-length critical Review provides a summary and discussion of the relevant literature about any topic covered within the Aims and Scope of the Journal. Reviews should be accompanied by an abstract. There are no formal limits on the page extent.

Electronic Submission Process All manuscripts and/or supplementary data must be submitted electronically through the Indonesian Journal of Chemometrics online web-based submission and peer review system. (http://.............com/cem). The authors are permitted to track the progress of their submissions after signing up the account.

The Journal of Chemometrics does not accept submissions or revisions by mail, fax or as e-mail attachments.File types All manuscript text and table source files are should be available in .doc, .docx, and .rtf. Figures should be provided in .tiff, .png or .jpeg format.

The manuscript should be in the following order:

1. Title page: It should have the title in sentence case style. Name(s) of the author(s) and their affiliations i.e. postal address, phone no., and corresponding author’s email address(es) must be supplied.
2. Abstract: It should have a brief idea of the whole article and not exceed 200 words. The abstract should not contain any undefined abbreviations or unspecified references and must be written both in English and Bahasa (abstrak).
3. Keywords: It should contain up to 5 key terms related to the research work and should be separated with comma (,).
4. Introduction (Pendahuluan): It represents the scope, objective, and novelty of the research work.
5. Methods (Metode): It comprises information about the materials, instruments, and methods to carry out the research work like animals, chemicals, and animal ethical committee permission, software used and procedures followed, etc. Chemical compounds should be named according to IUPAC or Chemical Abstracts. The units and dimensions should be expressed according to the metric system and SI units. Data analysis techniques must be stated in this section.
6. Results and Discussion (Hasil dan Pembahasan): It should contain an explanation of how research work performed and result in interpretations in sufficient detail descriptions.
7. Conclusion (Kesimpulan): It should concisely describe the main contribution/outcome of the results to the advancement of the field; it should not simply summarize each and every point of the study. The Conclusion should also briefly denote the potential impact of the results.
8. Acknowledgments (Ucapan Terima Kasih): It should contain the information regarding any research grant support or the assistance of colleagues.
9. References (Pustaka): The references should be represented as large brackets e.g[3] in the text. The references pattern should follow ACS (American Chemical Society) in the following website: https://pubs.acs.org/doi/pdf/10.1021/bk-2006-STYG.ch014
10. Tables and Figures (Tabel dan Gambar)

For tables:
a. All tables are identified with Arabic numerals.
b. Tables should always be cited in text in consecutive numerical order.
c. For each table, please supply a table caption (title) explaining the components of the table and citations.
d. Footnotes to tables should be indicated by superscript lowercase letters (or asterisks for significance values and other statistical data) and included beneath the table body.
Figure Legends:
a. Each figure should have a concise caption describing accurately what the figure depicts. Include the captions in the text file of the manuscript, as well as in the figure file.
b. Figure captions begin with the term Fig. in bold type, followed by the figure number in Arabic numerals, also in bold type. Citations should be supplied after the captions.
c. No punctuation is to be included after the number, nor is any punctuation to be placed at the end of the caption.
d. Identify all elements found in the figure in the figure caption; and use boxes, circles, etc., as coordinate points in graphs.
