Peer-Review Process

Middle Eastern Culture & Religion Issues employs a double-blind peer review. Our detailed editorial process is as follows.

  1. Articles submitted to Middle Eastern Culture & Religion Issues will be screened through the initial review process by the Editor in Chief, assisted by the Managing Editor.
  2. Authors whose articles pass the initial review will be notified to proceed to the next step; double-blind review stage.
  3. A Reviewer will be assigned to provide feedback on the manuscript and recommendation to the editorial team if the article should be rejected, accepted (without revision, with minor revision, or with major revision). The reviewers will be given a maximum of one month to finish the review.
  4. The review results will be delivered to authors to initiate a revision within two months at most before resubmitting the article.
  5. The Editor in Chief will make the final decision about the article whether it is accepted or declined, and when it will be published in an editorial meeting with all editorial team.
  6. An accepted article is processed to be checked by an in-house copyeditor before it it is layout for publication.
  7. Once greenlit, the final version of the article is returned to the submitting author for final approval.
  8. Author-approved article is published onlie.
