The theme of volume 3, Issue 1 of the SEAJ ALGov is "Public law: the development and challenges." The articles on this issue are written by authors from diverse countries and employ different legal research methods.
The first article in this volume discusses state recognition theory from a legal-historical perspective. The second article elaborates on the erosion of legislative oversight in the so-called Indonesia super-priority national strategic projects, namely the preparation of the new national capital. The third article employs comparative legal analysis of asset valuation laws across ASEAN countries, followed by the fourth article, which elaborates on freedom of speech in the contemporary context. The last article has a similar theme to the second; it discusses the legal issue in the national strategic project, namely the New Yogyakarta International Airport.

South-East Asian Journal of Advanced Law and Governance (SEAJ-ALGov) (E-ISSN: 3062-7907) is an academic journal that focuses on conceptual and/or empirical approaches in the fields of law and governance. We are interested in articles on the fields of public law and governance, which:
1. examine a particular problem and solution of public law and/or governance in one of the ASEAN member countries to provide food for thought for that country and/or the ASEAN member states;
2, compare public law and governance studies between one particular ASEAN country and other jurisdictions outside ASEAN, or compare among ASEAN member states; or
3. provide public law and governance analysis on a particular country beyond ASEAN, but offer insight for law, governance, and society reform in a particular or several ASEAN countries.
"Public law" here refers to administrative law, constitutional law, human rights law, environmental law, agrarian law, and tax law. We will prioritize articles that take an interdisciplinary perspective, drawing on social science fields such as politics, public administration, public policy, and sociology.
SEAJ-ALGov has a publication frequency of 2 (two) times per year, with publication months of April and October and are accepting submission throughout the year. We encourage authors to submit and furhter contribute to further discourse in the context of law and governance.
The aims of SEAJ-ALGov are:
1. To support scientific writing that is critical, progressive, and innovative which are beneficial for the public in general;
2. To spread knowledge and to be one of the leading medium for law and governance scholars in SEA regions.
