Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Agroindustrial Journal undergo a rigorous screening and review process to ensure alignment with the journal’s scope, academic quality, and originality. The journal employs a double-anonymized peer review system, in which both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the process. This mechanism is intended to guarantee fairness, objectivity, and higher quality of publications.
1. Initial Screening
Each newly submitted manuscript is screened by the Editor-in-Chief to evaluate its conformity with the journal’s aims and scope, as well as compliance with the submission guidelines. In this stage, manuscripts are also subjected to a similarity check using iThenticate. Manuscripts with a similarity index greater than 20% will be returned to the authors for revision or directly rejected. Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements will be rejected without further review.
2. Peer Review
If the manuscript passes the initial screening stage, it will be assigned to a handling editor, who will then send it to at least two experts in the relevant field to undergo a double-blind peer-review. Manuscripts that fail to pass the initial screening will be rejected without further review.
3. First Decision
A decision on the manuscript will only be made after at least two review reports are received. Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the handling editor may decide to:
Accept the manuscript as it is.
Request minor or major revisions.
Recommend resubmission for a second review process.
Reject the manuscript.
In cases where the reviewers’ opinions differ significantly, the handling editor may invite an additional reviewer to provide a third assessment before making a decision. The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on the handling editor’s recommendation and approval from the editorial board.
4. Revision Stage
Manuscripts requiring revision will be returned to the authors, who are expected to revise and resubmit their work within a specified time (generally two to four weeks). Authors must provide a clear response to each reviewer’s comment. The handling editor will then assess whether the revisions are adequate and whether the reviewers’ suggestions have been properly addressed. If revisions are insufficient, the manuscript may be returned to the author for further improvement.
5. Final Decision
At this stage, the revised manuscript will either be accepted or rejected. This decision is dependent whether the handling editor finds the manuscript to have been improved to a level worthy of publication. On average, the review and editorial process in the Agroindustrial Journal takes approximately five months from submission to final acceptance. If the author(s) are unable to make the required changes or have done so to a degree below Agroindustrial Journal standards, the manuscript will be rejected.
