The Editor-in-Chief, together with the Managing Editors and Editorial Board members, holds the responsibility of maintaining the integrity and transparency of the entire publishing process. Editors are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards throughout all stages of manuscript handling and publication.

Editorial Responsibilities

  1. Commitment to Readers and Authors
Editors are committed to addressing the needs of both readers and authors. They strive to improve the quality, relevance, and academic contribution of each issue of Jurnal Arnawa.
  2. Upholding Academic Integrity
Editors must ensure that every manuscript undergoes a fair, unbiased, and timely review process. Decisions should be guided by the manuscript’s academic merit—its originality, clarity, scholarly rigor, and relevance to the journal’s aims and scope.
  3. Conflict of Interest Disclosure
Editors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to the manuscripts they handle. Any such conflict must be reported to the Editor-in-Chief, who will assess whether a reassignment to another editor is necessary.
  4. Ethical Decision-Making
Editors should encourage responsible academic behavior and proactively prevent unethical practices by both authors and reviewers. This includes discouraging plagiarism, data fabrication, and redundant publication.
  5. Confidentiality
Editors must maintain strict confidentiality of all submissions and author-related information, and should not disclose any content or decisions outside the editorial process unless authorized.
  6. Transparent and Accessible Guidelines
Editors must ensure that author guidelines and editorial policies are clearly stated and readily available both in print and online formats.
  7. Reviewer Selection and Management
Editors are responsible for appointing at least two qualified peer reviewers for each manuscript. They must provide reviewers with clear instructions regarding the review criteria, expectations, and deadlines.
  8. Reviewer Ethics and Anonymity
Editors should request reviewers to disclose any conflicts of interest before agreeing to review a manuscript. Editors must also take all necessary steps to protect the anonymity of reviewers (double-blind review process) and ensure a respectful, constructive review environment.
  9. Quality Control and Improvement
Editors are encouraged to consistently reflect on the journal's editorial practices and seek ways to improve peer review quality, publication standards, and the journal’s contribution to academic discourse.
  10. Publication Ethics Awareness
All editorial team members must be familiar with ethical publishing practices to prevent and address any potential conflicts of interest or breaches of publication ethics.
