Journal History

agriTECH is the first journal in the field of agricultural technology in Indonesia, with purpose to disseminate the recent technology in agriculture for sustainable agroindustry. To confirm the technology aspect, then the symbol of journal applies capital of “TECH” an abbreviation of technology and white colour emphasis the sustainability. Whereas, the agriculture as material objective is abbreviated “agri” with green colour.

The first edition of agriTECH (Volume 1) was published in July 1980 by Faculty of Agricultural Technology Universitas Gadjah Mada. agriTECH adopted the online journal system (OJS) in 2016 where the web page has been migrated from the portal of tp.ugm.ac.id to jurnal.ugm.ac.id. At the end of November 2016, agriTECH was registered in CrossRef, therefore, articles published on Volume 34 No. 3 and forward hold the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) number. Additionally, starting from Volume 36 No. 3, it has improved the introduction of articles by adding the article genesis that incorporates information about pages, DOI and article history (submission and acceptation dates).

In addition, based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia No. 158/E/KPT/2021, agriTECH was designated as an Accredited Scientific Journal (Sinta 2) from Vol. 41 No. 1, 2021 to Vol. 45 No. 2, 2025. Meanwhile, based on decision No. 0005.25273825/JI.3.1/SK.ISSN/2016.05 on the 16th of May 2016, agriTECH has been registered with ISSN 2527-3825 (Online), starting for articles included in Volume 36 No. 1 2016.

Recently, agriTECH has been indexed by both public and worldwide indexer institutions, for example, DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journal - International), Dimensions (International), Science and Technology Index (SINTA - National), Garba Rujukan Digital (Garuda - National), and other citation databases of peer-reviewed scientific literature.

In addition, beginning from January 2018, this journal has also been indexed on the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), a new database within Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters) Web of Science. Starting from Volume 40 No. 1, there is a change in the number of articles published, from 15 to 10 per number.
